Quick answer

How do I count working days while excluding weekends and holidays?

Inspect each date and exclude it when it matches a selected weekly non-working day or an additional holiday. Range mode includes eligible start and end dates, while add mode begins counting on the next eligible date.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose whether to count workdays in a range or add/subtract workdays from a start date.
  2. Enter dates, choose weekly non-working days, and add holidays applicable to the employer, bank, contract, or authority in YYYY-MM-DD format.
  3. Read the workday count or result date, plus the calendar span and excluded-day breakdown.

How the calculation works

The tool uses Gregorian calendar dates without times. Range mode inspects every date from start through end, including both endpoints. Add/subtract mode moves one date at a time in the selected direction and counts only dates not excluded by weekly or additional-holiday rules. Duplicate holidays are excluded once, and a holiday that falls on a weekly non-working day is classified only as weekly to prevent double counting.

Examples

Example Input Expected result
Monday-to-Friday week
3–9 August 2026, Saturday and Sunday excluded, no extra holidays
5 workdays in a 7-day inclusive calendar range, with 2 weekly days excluded
Extra midweek holiday
3–9 August 2026, Saturday and Sunday excluded, plus 5 August 2026
4 workdays, with 2 weekly days and 1 additional holiday excluded
Add five workdays
Start 3 August 2026, add 5 workdays, Saturday and Sunday excluded
10 August 2026 because the start date is not counted and the weekend is skipped

Limitations

  • The result does not certify a contractual, statutory, court, bank, or authority deadline; those can use their own counting and holiday rules.
  • No government or bank holiday calendar is built in. Enter and verify the list that actually applies, including special announcements.
  • Range mode includes eligible endpoints, while add mode excludes the start date; choose the convention required by the source document.
  • Supported dates are 1900–2200, ranges are limited to 36,600 calendar days, and offsets to 36,500 workdays.

Frequently asked questions

Does range mode include the start and end dates?

Yes, when each endpoint is eligible under the selected rule. A Monday-through-Friday range therefore contains five workdays.

Does add mode count the start date as day one?

No. It begins checking on the next date, following the common WORKDAY convention. An offset of zero returns the original start date.

Why are Thai public holidays not inserted automatically?

Government, bank, and employer traditional-holiday calendars are not identical, and employers choose their applicable holidays. User-entered holidays avoid applying a calendar from the wrong context or missing a special announcement.

Are entered dates saved?

No. Calculation and report generation happen in the browser, and dates are not sent to the server.
